This is the fun stuff, AKA "what are we going to do next?". Everybody has lots of good ideas about things the business could do better or stop doing or change how they do something. The problem is, without clear strategies the tactics will not necessarily support the goals of the organization or the vision of management.

Strategy is the essential link that joins the goals of the organization to the tactics that are developed.

The other important message to remember is that creating tactics must not only consist of creating lists of things to do but must also include creating measurable timelines, accountability, reporting and measurement systems.
